Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board Invites Applications for Lecturer Positions in Waqf Higher Secondary Schools

Srinagar, April 12, 2023: The Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board has announced the engagement of Lecturers on an “Academic Arrangement” basis for the session 2023 in various Waqf Higher Secondary Schools. Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the following subjects: Information Practice (IP), English, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Computer Science, Environmental Science, and Physical Education.

The selection scheme for the engagement of Lecturers will be based on a weightage system. The minimum qualification required for the posts is a Post-Graduation degree in the relevant subject, along with B.Ed., M.Ed., M.Phil. + Ph.D., Ph.D. without M.Phil., NET/SET/JRF experience.

Interested candidates are required to submit their applications to the respective principals of Waqf Higher Secondary Schools by April 25, 2023, during office hours. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview, which will be conducted at the new Central Waqf office in Sonwar, Srinagar. The date, time, and venue of the interview will be notified separately through print/other media.

Candidates from within the respective district where the school is located may be considered for preferential treatment in case of equal merit with candidates from other districts. The selected candidates will be appointed on an “Academic Arrangement” basis and will receive a monthly remuneration of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten thousand only).

It should be noted that the engagement on an academic arrangement basis will be valid only for the current academic session (2023) and will not confer any claim for continuation beyond or preferential consideration in future engagements, except as per the prescribed norms and procedures.

Mr. Ishtiyaq Mohi-ud-din, Executive Magistrate (Tehsildar) of J&K Waqf Board, urged eligible candidates to submit their applications for the engagement of Lecturers in Waqf Higher Secondary Schools and comply with the terms and conditions mentioned in the official notification.

This engagement of Lecturers in Waqf Higher Secondary Schools is seen as a positive step towards providing quality education in the region and fulfilling the academic requirements of these schools.
