JkPSC Competitive Examination 2022 Announced, Candidates Set for Medical Examination

Jammu and Kashmir, August 22, 2023 – The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has announced the results of the J&K Combined Competitive Examination 2022, marking a significant milestone in the recruitment process. The examination, which saw a participation of thousands of candidates, has reached a crucial stage as selected candidates move forward for the next phase.

The General Administration Department had earlier referred 220 vacant posts to the JKPSC for filling through the Combined Competitive Examination. Following the release of Notification No. 08-PSC(DR-P) of 2022 on April 19, 2022, a total of 34,121 candidates were provisionally admitted for the Preliminary Examination. Additionally, three candidates were granted permission to appear based on the directives of the Hon’ble Central Administrative Tribunal.

The Preliminary Examination took place on July 31, 2022, with a total of 23,571 candidates participating. Subsequently, the Commission set criteria for the Mains Examination, and 4,944 candidates were deemed qualified as per Notification No. PSC/Exam/2022/22 dated August 17, 2022.

The J&K Combined Competitive (Mains) Examination, 2022, was conducted from February 20 to March 2, 2023, in both Jammu and Srinagar. A total of 3,891 candidates appeared for all papers. Following the established criteria outlined in SRO 103 of 2018 dated February 23, 2018, and subsequent amendments, the Commission declared that 787 candidates were qualified for the interview stage as per Notification No. PSC/Exam(s)/2923/25 dated June 22, 2023.

The Personality tests (interviews) were held between July 10 and August 22, 2023, at the Srinagar Office of the J&K PSC. Of the eligible candidates, 05 were unable to attend the interview. In an extraordinary meeting held on August 22, 2023, the Commission made the decision to disclose the results of candidates who participated in the interview and to publish their aggregate marks.

The selected candidates will be summoned for the Medical Examination, in accordance with the relevant rules as per SRO 103 of 2018 and J&K Public Service Commission (Conduct of Examination) Rules 2022. This marks a significant step towards the finalization of the recruitment process, bringing closer the appointment of qualified individuals to these important roles.
